Friday December 21st and Saturday December 22nd the 17th Annual Zinkin Classic will take Place at Buchanan High School. High Schools from all over California and even out of state as far as Washington and Arizona will be in attendance to compete against the states best.
At 106 pounds, the Apaches will be sending two wrestlers to compete. Sophomore Christian Gonzales (4-3) and Freshman Zach Butts (9-2). This will be Gonzales’s first time competing in the 106 pound weight class this year.
Next at 120 pounds Sanger’s lone senior Samson Mansy (4-7) will be competing.
At 132 pounds Outstanding Freshman Fernando Gonzalez (9-4) will have a big test as he competes this weekend. Gonzales is looking to keep is placing going after a 7th Place finish at the Chukchansi Invitational.
At 152 pound weight class Junior Vincent Stafford (8-2) will be competing. Stafford is looking to make a comeback after falling short at the 10th annual Chukchansi Invitational.
Next at 160 pounds Junior Nick Morales (4-7) will be competing. This will be Morales’s first time in the 160 pound weight class this year.
At 182 pounds Junior Holden Puga will be competing. Puga is also looking to make a comeback after falling short at the Chukchansi Invitational.
Next at the HWT division Sanger rookie Sophomore Ray Cabrera (2-6) will be competing.
